Phyrexia: All Will Be One – Commander Precons And Deck Lists

The Brothers’ War release is behind us and now we have Phyrexia: All will Be One to look forward to. It will pick up right where the last set left us and takes us to the plane of Phyrexia for the first time in over a decade. It also marks the first time we will have commander precons set on the plane. Here’s a look at everything we know so far.

There are two Phyrexia: All Will Be One commander precons which will release on February 10, 2023. They are Corrupting Influence (white-black-green) and Rebellion Rising (red-white).

We don’t have deck lists yet but given the manes and colors, we can make a few educated guesses as to what the themes may be and answer a few common questions about pre-constructed commander decks in general.

Release Date

The decks usually release alongside the main set they correspond with. If this is the case here, these decks would hit shelves on February 3rd. However, according to Amazon, these won’t be coming out until a week later on February 10th.

Contents

Obviously, we don’t know the unique deck lists for these yet but here’s a look at the non-unique contents found in each box.

  • 2 foil cards (the main and secondary commander)
  • 98 nonfoil cards
  • 1 foil-etched display commander
  • 10 double-sided tokens
  • 1 life counter
  • 1 cardboard deck box

Themes

There are two decks – One for the Phyrexian’s side and the other represents their opposition. The Phyrexian deck is called “Corrupting Influence” and I think this refers to the Corrupted mechanic spoiled for Phyrexia: All Will Be One. It revolves around an opponent being “poisoned.”

So, if this is the case we will also see poison counters featured. However, I don’t think it will be via Infect – I think they will come from the “Toxic” mechanic spoiled for the set.

We don’t have any actual text on what it does but I think it’ll give players or creatures a number of poison counters equal to its Toxic value. So, for example, “Toxic 1” would be one poison counter. This would be slightly less powerful than Infect since the ability doesn’t scale with the creature’s power.

End Step

I am beyond excited to revisit the plane of Phyrexia and the fact that we get commander decks adds to it further. Regardless if you sing the praises of Elesh Norn and Jin-Gitaxias or want to see the mechanical scorge banished to the bowels of the ninth circle, these are sure to be a great pick-up. I started playing Magic in 2015. I love all formats but I particularly love to play and build decks in modern. Pretty much every part of my life has been influenced by Magic in some way or another. It is something I am very passionate about. RIP Simian Spirit Guide.
