Dominaria United commemorates the game’s upcoming 30-year anniversary, with a return to the setting of its very first release – The Plane of Dominaria. This homecoming brings with it an epic storyline that will span several sets, booster packs with a guaranteed legendary creature, and new commander preons. With that said, let’s take a look at the details for everything we know so far about Dominaria United.
The set releases on September 9, 2022, and celebrates the 30-year anniversary of Magic: The Gathering. It is set on MTGs oldest plane – Dominaria. It will contain Draft, Set, and, Collector Boosters as well as jumpstart boxes. The Collector Boosters will contain actual cards from the original Legends set from 1994.

The code for the set is “DMU”
Box-Toppers
Box-Toppers for Dominaria United and can be found with each Set, Draft, and Collector Booster display. The “Legends Retold” Box Toppers are foil reimaginings of legendary creatures found in the original Legends set. Furthermore, these new cards will be available in Dominaria United Collector Boosters in both non-foil and foil-etched versions.
Here’s a look at the three we’ve seen so far:
Lost Legends
During the sneak peek, Wizards of the Coast announced that they found a substantial amount of original Legends Booster Boxes stored in a warehouse. What did they decide to do with these long-lost cases? Well, they decided to re-rerelease these cards in Dominaria United Collector Boosters.
To be clear, by ‘re-release,’ I don’t just mean these cards are being reprinted and included in Collector Boosters. Wizards physically opened the numerous boxes of Legends and put the actual cards from those boosters into Dominaria United packs.

Of course, not every Collector Booster can contain original Legends cards, because there was a limited supply found. With that said, around 3% of collector boosters will have a card from Legends. They’ll replace one of the foil commons, and they’ll all be non-foil English copies.
Furthermore, not every card from with original Legends will be available. However, many insane cards are. You can find a list of everything that you can stand to pull here.
Jumpstart
This set features the return of the wildly popular Jumpstart packs. Furthermore, each standard release from here on will also have Jumpstart packs. For those who don’t know, Jumpstart Boosters offer a very unique way to play MTG, where you skip the deckbuilding.
